The Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) is an independent body that investigates possible miscarriages of justice. It was set up in the wake of 1990’s scandals such as the Birmingham 6 and Guildford 4, and has the power to investigate cases and to refer (send) cases to the Court of Appeal. The CCRC has been operating since 1996.
Having good, experienced representation at the CCRC can make a real difference to the quality and potential success of your application. Charter Solicitors are experienced in helping to formulate well prepared applications to the CCRC that improve our clients’ prospects of a successful outcome.
